Word(s) of the day: Bed rest

I already know I'm an exceptionally big wuss. It is, however, nice to know that some of my pains really are concerning. I mean, I'd much rather not have them, but it's nice to be believed.

Today I spoke with my midwife and after describing all the various aches and pains, she said she wants me on bed rest till at least Wednesday afternoon, when I go in for an appointment. Who knows if she'll keep me on that bed rest after the appointment.

So yeah, I'm uncomfortable. Really uncomfortable. And I'm miserably dissatisfied by the state of my house. Sigh. Maybe if I just stick to my bedroom (on my wonderful new bed) and the bathroom, I will be able to block out the images of my terribly messy home.

What kind of aches and pains are you having? I never know what is NORMAL or not. I just chalk aches and wierd pains to being pregnant. Maybe I need to be more vocal with my doctor.

Get some rest! Rest really does a body good :)

I'm so sorry, Heather! Bed rest is one of the worst things. The one thing that really helped me was to have small goals. Once we were past 34 weeks with Abe, my next goal was to keep that baby OUT of the NICU. It was sooo nice to just bring a baby home the same time I came home. The bedrest was so terrible by that point. I remember how antsy I was. If you get absolutely bored or need an ear to bend, give me a call. :-)

Normal is relative. Lots of pain - especially in certain parts of your body - are indications of early labor. I have had contractions (real and tons of braxton-hicks) so the pain on top of those mean my body and the baby are gearing up.

Now I'm starting to think that the constant pain (feels a lot like menstrual cramps honestly) might be a touch of placenta abrupta. I hate cramps. I especially hate them when I can't take ibuprofen for them.

Jo - if you think it feels a little too weird or "wrong" ask. Just in case.

Karin - thanks for the offer. I may have to take you up on it. :)

Your messy house is the last thing you should worry about. You just take care of you and the baby. Let someone else take care of the mess.

Please tell me that even though you're stuck on bed rest right now, you're at least stuck on the dreamy bed you found at RC Willey.

I don't envy you at all, so I will keep you in my prayers and ask God to go a little easy on you if at all possible. ;-)

Think of it this way.

You're a man's dream right now. A woman who stays in bed waiting for her man to get home. ;-)

I think he should have to fight the dragon (clean the house) in order to win the prize of the beautiful princess. It makes for a better story don't you think?
